Description:
The Fundraising Manager will be on the front line of the Charity helping the Charity to achieve its aim of becoming the ‘charity of choice’ in the Wirral borough. As part of a small team, the post-holder will also be involved in supporting the general work of the Charity and other income streams.
The post-holder is an employee of Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (‘the Trust’), and WUTH Charity is a wholly owned Trust subsidiary.
The post holder will occasionally work on projects which bring income directly to the Trust, not via the Charity.
Communicating operations of the charity, and any legislative, good practice, and/or governance changes to senior leaders and forums, including to the Director of People Experience, the Executive leads, and the Board’s Charitable Funds Committee.
Writing and/or presenting reports at least quarterly to the Director of People Experience, the Executive leads, and the Board’s Charitable Funds Committee.
Leading meetings with, and presenting to, community organisations and businesses.
Building strong relationships with hospital staff at all levels, and others in the health & social care system, to share the vision for the Charity, and build strong networks of supporters.
Answering ad-hoc queries about the Charity from internal or external sources.
Influencing, motivating and persuading others to fundraise, sponsor and/or give.
Providing excellent donor care at all times, and communicating with donors in a professional and clear manner, taking into account potential sensitive or personal circumstances and balancing requests with the requirements of processes and controls.
Creating communication and marketing materials for the Charity. This could include writing content for webpages, printed materials (e.g., fundraising literature) and/or information for staff, patients and carers.
Confidently using social media to help build and nurture a strong community of supporters.
All new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. We are described as “competent and caring staff” by our patients.
