Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset life-cycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.
Reporting to the Complex Assets Manager, you will have industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in water or wastewater, have an understanding of mechanical issues relating to submersible and surface pumps and treatment devices such as electrical generators, compressors, etc together with an understanding of PLC controlled applications.

The contract we look after is responsible for the maintenance of the water and wastewater networks including Treated Water Reservoirs and associated pump stations, which include mechanical and electrical maintenance, so no day is the same.

• This is a full time (minimum 40 hours a week), permanent role, based in Auckland - New Zealand.
• This role is offered as part of a Union, so there are opportunities to earn overtime, penal rates & stand-by rates.

NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

The successful candidate with be familiar with preventative maintenance regimes, computer literate (ability to complete time and job sheets, and technical literacy to operate static and mobile telemetry devices), able to plan jobs, operate and maintain equipment without supervision while always keeping a focus on and have an outstanding customer service attitude when working with customers, the client and sub-contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Full NZ Driver Licence - Class 1 and Class 2 will be an advantage.
• Hiab training would be an advantage
• Certification in confined spaces & working at heights preferred
• NZQF Level 4 qualification in relevant field or at least three years of relevant experience.
