GALLERY & MUSEUM EDUCATION AND ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

Council is seeking to appoint a maximum term full time Gallery & Museum Education and Engagement Officer to contribute to Council’s success.

This position is a maximum term opportunity for parental leave coverage with a projected end date of May 2025.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this position is to develop Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum (GRAGM)’s capacity building community programs. The role cultivates relationships with artists, community groups and organisations and designs annual programs that address skills and knowledge requirements in the region and connects them with GRAGM. A key responsibility of the role is to develop and maintain strong relationships with local educational and learning facilities and establish GRAGM as a key learning resource locally, regionally, and nationally.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Identifying community need and then designing and delivering relevant programs that address knowledge or skill gaps, specifically in the arts and culture sector.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local educational and learning facilities to ensure that GRAGM programming is relevant to curriculum.
  • Cultivating relationships with artists, community groups and organisations with a view of collaborative programming.
  • Coordinating the Regional Arts Development Fund.
  • Establishing the Gallery & Museum as a key educational resource locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Working with community stakeholders, artists, and arts workers, playing a critical role in planning, and delivering meaningful capacity building programs.
