Gas Flow Development Engineer (m/f/d)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Customers around the globe utilize our Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines in day-to-day operation to change the future of manufacturing. The Process Development Team contributes to this challenge by developing, testing, and qualifying some of the key components of our machines. One of these is the Gas Flow system which removes any process by-products from the process chamber. In this role you will

• Develop the Gas Flow system for future metal 3D printing systems to further increase processing speed and quality
• Plan, conduct and evaluate Gas Flow system related tests
• Support in the selection, implementation and continuous support of Gas Flow related measurement equipment
• Create comprehensive documentation and support in the creation of manuals and similar documents
• Collaborate with many stakeholders across the company including engineering, production and service
• Be part of a dedicated engineering team from around the globe

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree or equivalent certification in the field of engineering or physics
• Good knowledge on fluid dynamics
• Knowledge on CFD and 1D fluid simulations is favorable
• Well-structured work ethic, able to manage multiple complex challenges at once
• Curious mindset with a hands-on mentality
