Job Description
Currently, for our site in Slough, we’re looking for a Gas Seal Test Technician to join our well-established production team.
The role holder will perform tests on our Dry Gas Seals, and associated test equipment activities, all activities are carried out in accordance with the required company quality/productivity standards whilst ensuring company Health and Safety procedures are complied with.
This role is Monday to Thursday during office hours and half-day work on Friday

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Install & test dry gas seals in line with company quality/productivity standards whilst ensuring company Health and Safety procedures are complied with.
  • Prepare test equipment for the test.
  • Prepare test equipment and documents for shipment to other JC sites.
  • Strip and inspection of the seals post-test
  • Complete all relevant documentation, SAP information, Visual Factory compliance
  • Complete weekly 5S audits and actions
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities within the area
  • Train other technicians when required
  • Participate in daily SPQCD meetings

The Individual

  • We ideally require candidates to be apprenticeship trained with relevant qualifications (for example craft apprentice, BTEC Level 3, NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent)
  • Ability to read technical drawings is essential.
  • The ideal background would be someone skilled in fine measurements.
  • Assembly / Test experience in Gas Seals would be an advantage
  • Good IT Skills - SAP, MS office
  • Good understanding of Continuous Improvement and associated tools
  • High level of drive and willingness to learn new skills
  • Good communication skills - internal/external customers
