GBP Rates Trading - Analyst / Associate (London)
Role Overview
We are looking for an Analyst/Associate on the GBP rates trading desk. This desk provides client liquidity across the broad spectrum of domestic rates products. We help our clients access the liquidity they require with a primary focus on: Interest Rate Swaps, Inflation bonds and derivatives, nominal Gilt bond trading, as well as more bespoke structured solutions. The desk focuses on managing the associated risk responsibilities for these and other directly related product areas.

The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products Sales & Trading.
From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. QUALIFICATIONS

What will you be doing?

  • Support the desk with the goal of market making across a wide variety of product offerings.
  • Develop a strong analytical understanding of both linear and exotic rates products specific to UK rates markets.
  • Work closely with sales to meet broad client needs.
  • Build strong relationships in the fixed income world.
  • Work with supportive teams across tech/strats/operations to develop and progress existing functionality.

What we’re looking for:

  • A keen interest in the financial markets, economics, market dynamics and have the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A reasonably to very quantitative and/or economics/business background depending on the role
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Motivation and dedication.
