GEAR CUTTING SETTER

The opportunity now exists for a professional and driven Gear Cutting Setter to join our team. To be successful you will be mechanically minded person who has the capabilities to set up and operate CNC Gear shapers and hobbing machines.
This is a great opportunity for experienced and reliable Gear Cutters who have a can do attitude and enjoy working in a team environment.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION IDEALLY YOU WILL HAVE:

• Current drivers licence and own reliable transport
• Have an understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
• Experience in using micrometers, gages, fixtures and calipers
• Gear cutting experience
• Knowledge of gear hobbing and shaping procedures
• Ability to read drawings; job specifications/ instructions
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills

• Set up and safely operate CNC gear shaping machines and hobbing machines
• Cutting gear, spline teeth and holding tolerances
• Run machine adjustments as required to maintain drawing specifications
• Use of tools such as micrometers, gages, fixtures and calipers
• Work in a collaborative environment to execute production plans
• Consistently follow process to produce quality results
