EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years’ experience working in Archives, library, or records management is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Museum Studies, Library Science, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Self-motivated and performance-driven with ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Strong written and oral communication
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
- Proficient in using technology including databases (such as collections management systems); ability to evaluate and learn new software to support strategies for preserving and cataloging archival materials
- Knowledge of current archives standards and best practices and relevant guidelines pertaining to access and preservation
- Knowledge of collections standards and Museum Best Practices
Typical Physical Demands:
Must be able to move 40 pounds with or without accommodations and perform repetitive actions over time. Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday.
