EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years’ experience working in Archives, library, or records management is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in History, Museum Studies, Library Science, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Self-motivated and performance-driven with ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Proficient in using technology including databases (such as collections management systems); ability to evaluate and learn new software to support strategies for preserving and cataloging archival materials
  • Knowledge of current archives standards and best practices and relevant guidelines pertaining to access and preservation
  • Knowledge of collections standards and Museum Best Practices

Typical Physical Demands:
Must be able to move 40 pounds with or without accommodations and perform repetitive actions over time. Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of workday.
