Our Client is looking to recruit a General Assistant to work in a state of the art nursing home situated in Tuam Co Galway. Attractive salary on offer to the successful candidates.
The General Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the facility and ensuring the comfort, well-being, and safety of our residents.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in caring for elderly individuals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
Respect for residents’ privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
Flexible availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed.
Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the nursing home.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the chef with duties in the kitchen
Support residents in moving around the facility safely, using mobility aids as necessary.
Assist in serving meals and snacks to residents, ensuring dietary preferences and restrictions are adhered to.
Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional health to the nursing staff.
Engage residents in recreational activities and social events to promote well-being and companionship.
Assist with the organization and setup of facility events and outings.
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
