WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a General Hand/Trades Assistant to join our Maintenance Team at our Edinburgh North production facility on either a full time or part time basis. We are a hands-on team providing breakdown and preventative maintenance support to production plant and equipment, including retail stores as required.

LICENSES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a current driver’s license and reliable transport
• Forklift licence or willing to obtain
• Elevated Work Platform licence or willing to obtain

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

• Assist with general maintenance tasks and housekeeping requirements around the factory.
• Support the team with repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely and effective manner.
• Improve unplanned downtime with planned maintenance activities and a preventative maintenance approach.
• Assist with the implementation of maintenance programs to support production requirements.
• Comply with relevant safety standards and quality assurance practices and ensure execution of these standards are part of all repairs and maintenance activities.
• Identify and escalate Workplace Safety, Food Safety and Quality issues, hazards and risks.

TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

• Previous experience working in a similar role.
• Previous experience working in food manufacturing or FMCG, desirable.
• Ability and experience working on a wide range of maintenance tasks, including welding, fault finding, repairs and maintenance, preferred.
• Can work as part of a team supporting trade qualified team members.
• Organised & proactive self-starter with a creative / innovative problem-solving attitude.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety procedures and requirements.
