QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3+ years of experience working as a general or skilled labourer
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and be able to perform a variety of repetitive physical tasks.
  • Highly motivated and energetic and able to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Trade experience in mechanics, and construction is an asset
  • Experience in equipment operation and maintenance is strongly preferred
  • Operational experience in industrial facilities is an asset
  • Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical equipment is an asset
  • Experience and comfortability in handling powdered or hazardous materials is an asset
  • Forklift training and welding experience are an asset
  • First Aid trained or willing to obtain certification
  • Able to maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Participates and successfully passes formal orientation training

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general and skilled labour tasks during the fabrication, construction, and commissioning of Carbon Upcycling’s research and development facilities, which may include assisting with equipment installation and assembly, setting up the workspace, and overall organization
  • Performs routine general and skilled labour tasks during operations, which may include transporting, organizing, loading and unloading testing materials and handling various chemicals and carbon-based materials while following safety instructions and protocols
  • Ensuring that safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Cleaning, and maintaining a tidy environment on a daily basis
  • Attend safety and other operational meetings as required
  • Takes appropriate actions to correct any issues on site raise safety issues or concerns
  • Maintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards
  • Leads and contributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way
