Job Purpose: dnata Catering and Retail is Australia’s largest and most admired inflight catering and retail partner. We have an exciting opportunity for a senior executive to join our successful International Flight Catering team full-time, based at Melbourne Airport. As General Manager, dnata Catering & Retail, Melbourne reporting into our Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the strategic performance for our Melbourne unit, which is the busiest hub in our network. Belonging to the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for shaping and cascading the company’s vision, mission, and values, and role-modelling the onednata culture.
Entering our facilities each day with a sense of purpose, you will lead a Unit Operations Manager and a dedicated group of high-performance Department Leaders, who focus on daily operations, empowering them to manage and drive success from within. With direct oversight of the overall performance of the unit, including the areas of safety, quality, customer experience, people development and business partnerships, you will also aim to inspire by example and be a consistent driver of future growth through new initiatives.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Develop and deliver short and long term goals for the business
  • Monitor and manage operational financial performance
  • Ensure a safety-first work environment and culture and sustainable operation
  • Lead, motivate and empower others to build employee engagement and high performance
  • Build high trust relationships with our clients and key stakeholders to build value
  • Proactively coach and mentor the leadership team, empowering them to make decisions that impact the business positively
  • Contribute advice and insights into analysis on operational performance
  • Ensure the business is current and compliant with all food safety, workplace safety and employee safety through training and awareness

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role (food manufacturing/logistics) at leadership level
  • Experience leading large workforce teams of over 200 staff
