Description:

FULL TIME

Currently seeking a General Manager with experience within the Electronic Security industry to join a privately owned, Australian business.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Electronics is responsible for leading and managing the technical department and its employees to drive growth and innovation.
The GM is expected to lead by example to develop a proactive business culture and maintain good business ethics and provide strategic, progressive leadership.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the technical department
Work with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to ensure work performed by technical department aligns with the strategic goals and vision
Design and Implement Business Strategies to improve technical department’s performance.
Set goals for Performance and Growth and set tools to measure these goals.
Ensure that resources are managed effectively and efficiently to achieve or exceed budget profitability, planned growth and development
Monitor work schedules and resources to achieve efficient delivery of services
Manage Projects
Manage budgets and plan contingencies
Monitor sales performance/ KPIs of staff
Participate in monthly leadership team meetings
Ensure compliance with OH&S and safety standards as well as maintaining quality management systems
Conduct field technical audits
Mentor and supervise technical department team
Provide direction, conduct performance reviews and set corrective actions as required.
Coach, train and develop technical team to achieve business targets
Recruit and induct new Technicians and Apprentices
Serve as technical liaison with suppliers, contractors, and major clients to develop relationships and identify business opportunities
Improve customer experience and ensure customer satisfaction
Resolve complaints
Negotiate with suppliers
Select, manage and evaluate contractors, where applicable
Preparation of tenders, proposals and submissions in accordance with the delegated level of authority for the position
Provide quotations and technical scope as required

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED TO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

A relevant tertiary qualification is required for this position, or experience to an equivalent level
Minimum of 15 years management experience is required for this role
Experience in full P+L management
Sales management experience within an operational/service industry is desirable
Have the relevant Security License
Being a leader and motivator within the business to achieve set objectives
Sound time management - proven ability to effectively manage planned/unplanned workloads
Business Planning - must demonstrate ability to effectively build short, med & long-term strategic business plans
Advanced organizational and communication skills
Proven ability to identify and resolve customer needs in a timely manner
Problem solving and analytical skills
Forecasting and Scheduling
Use in Salesforce, Mastermind and Simpro is desirable
