POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the General Manager for Nations Creations will oversee all aspects of Nation’s Creation’s manufacturing, sales, and graphic design operations. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, manage the financial aspects of the business, and effectively lead personnel to ensure the company’s continued growth and success.
The General Manager will have the leadership competencies, skills, and knowledge to drive employee excellence and financial performance measurably and consistently.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and manage Nation’s Creation’s budget, tracking expenses, and financial performance, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are followed in order to provide financial oversight and budgetary control, in alignment with the Finance Administration Law and Finance Policy.
  • Implement cost-effective measures to maximize profitability while maintaining product quality.
  • Improve product costing and pricing strategies.
  • Preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts for projects related to initiatives, in alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for supporting new activities and improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting/Finance, or related background required, MBA an asset.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years’ experience as an upper-level manager.
  • Extensive knowledge in garment production and sales/marketing with demonstrated experience in overseeing production, sales, manufacturing, and graphic design operations.
  • Experience in personnel management, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Experience in reporting on key business metrics.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Proven track record of successful financial management and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with quality control and process improvement methodologies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to agree as well as adhere to Seabird Island Band Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Information Technology (IT) Policies and Procedures, etc.
  • Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language or willingness to learn.
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract within the last 5 years.Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
