    As part of a plan to better align our resources and efforts with Gold Corporation’s Risk and Compliance strategic goals, enhance efficient management of workload and projects and ensure we continue to deliver high-quality results, we are seeking a General Manager Risk and Compliance.

As General Manager Risk and Compliance you will :

  • Lead the risk and compliance and financial crime compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance and the effective management of risks across the Corporation fostering a culture consistent with the Corporations values
  • Lead the implementation of a three lines of defence model across the Corporation and collaborate with senior management to drive the integration of risk and compliance into decision making processes
  • Ensure continuous improvement, development and implementation of a robust risk management framework and strategy aligned with the organisational goals and industry best practices including ensuring regular risk assessments are undertaken, controls are implemented and that emerging risks are monitored
  • Ensure the establishment and maintenance of effective compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant obligations including with respect to the Corporation’s anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing program and its prudential management policies and procedures
  • Ensure the maintenance and monitoring of all aspects of the Corporation’s insurance program including the successful completion of the annual insurance renewal process
  • Undertake key roles including acting as the Corporation’s Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (with the ability to appropriately delegate certain responsibilities)
  • Coordinate the activities of the Corporation’s internal auditor in line with the Corporations internal audit plan and ensure action items are tracked and appropriately closed and support the Chief Risk Officer in the development of a longer term plan for the Corporation’s internal audit function
  • Lead, together with the General Manager, Enterprise Risk Projects (AML Remediation Program) the transition of AML Remediation Program activities into business as usual activity on a sustainable basis
  • Ensure accurate, timely and effective reporting to the Enterprise Risk Committee, Audit and Risk Management Committee and Board on risk management, compliance and financial crime compliance
  • Monitoring and reporting on emerging trends, industry insights and corporate benchmarking.

In this role you will be responsible for leading the risk and compliance and financial crime compliance teams with the objective of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and appropriate and effective management of risk across the Corporation aligned with its vision and values. You will also be responsible for supporting and coordinating the Corporation’s internal audit activities.

  • We are looking for someone with demonstrated leadership experience as a senior leader of the risk, compliance and/or assurance functions within a medium to large organization.
  • Are you familiar with risk and compliance activities within a financial services environment (including with respect to anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing) well regarded?
  • Do you have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (eg risk, compliance, governance, accounting, finance, commerce, business or law)?
