Description:

As General Manager, you’ll provide effective leadership direction to the hotel by maximizing hotel performance, driving development of people, creating, and maintaining memorable guest experiences, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community. Reporting to Assistant Vice President, Operations.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the organizational chart.
  • Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments. Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
  • Handling complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.
  • Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.
  • Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings where applicable.
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies when required.
  • Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Administration, Business Administration
  • Three years management experience in a high-level operations role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of the property
  • Must speak local language(s), other languages preferred
  • Able to work under pressure and extreme conditions, able to work and deliver within tight timelines and able to handle last minute requests.
  • Have secondary relationships with Corporate HR, Sales & Marketing and Revenue
