KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Considerable experience in general practice or similar experience relevant to the work of a student health service
  • Proof of medical indemnity insurance
  • Empathy and understanding of the challenges in working with a student population and an ability to interact positively with them to foster resilience, personal safety, and academic success.
  • This role requires safety checking through the police vetting system under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.

Responsibilities:

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a General Practitioner to join Mauri Ora, the student health service, on a permanent basis. The role will be responsible for providing exceptional care and medical services for Victoria University of Wellington students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient care – ensuring students are provided high quality and accessible health care
  • Contribute to peer review, CME and MDT meetings when required
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team which includes our counselling team, nurse practitioners, health improvement practitioners, and health coach
