Description:
Maecon Infrastructure is a leading construction firm specializing in concrete restoration of bridges, commercial and industrial infrastructure. With a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency, we strive to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations. We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Superintendent to join our team and oversee on-site construction activities. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of on-site construction, including coordinating subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, maintaining quality standards, and overseeing safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Our office is based in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia but this position will spend majority of their time at various job sites all throughout the province.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred or an equivalent of practical experience.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized to effectively manage many tasks and meet appropriate deadlines.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to provide mentorship & advice to working Foremen and field staff to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Supervise and direct subcontractors, ensuring work is performed according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor project budgets and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Consult with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve construction problems and improve construction method to minimize delays, maximize efficiency, and ensure a smoothly run project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the schedule requirements.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies, contract specifications, and applicable building codes and regulations.
