ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH), in Bridgewater, is seeking a full-time general surgeon to join their team of general surgeons with a 1:4 call rotation. The role requires a full spectrum of general surgical services appropriate to a secondary care center. An interest in breast surgery would be considered an asset. Compensation is currently Fee for Service, with an estimated income range of $425,000 to $475,000 annually. Your annual income will depend solely on your own clinical output. In addition, specialist receive on-call stipends and other incentives as available through the Master Agreement of Nova Scotia.
Deadline for expression of interest in this position is July 1, 2024. Anticipated start date is August 19, 2024.
SSRH has 85 inpatient beds and was originally founded in 1988, SSRH is a primary and secondary care hospital and designated district trauma centre.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
Responsibilities:
- full scope of practice as a surgeon providing care to the patients within the Western Zone
- participating in call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called
