Description:

This post is for a haematology/transfusion biomedical scientist, either at Band 5 or Band 6 (depending on skills and experience). Candidates may also be considered under Band 6 Annex 21 if they hold the required skills and experience.
The post is primarily based at Prince Charles Hospital but there is the expectation and opportunity to rotate to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Within the haematology / transfusion team there is a focus on working by the Health Board values and behaviours of listening and improving, team work and respect. There is an emphasis on compassionate leadership, and we continually strive to improve the daily working experience for our staff.

We are seeking qualified and well-motivated HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientists, with post registration NHS experience, within the Haematology/Blood Transfusion Service at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The service will also consider a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist who has not yet completed the Specialist Portfolio, or non-HCPC registered individuals with an IBMS accredited Degree and relevant remuneration will apply.
The Haematology service delivers a high quality pathology service to the Health Board at our Prince Charles Hospital and Royal Glamorgan Hospital sites. These posts are based at Prince Charles Hospital.
The posts are full time 37.5 hours per week. Once appropriately trained, participation in the 24 hour shift system will be required, for which appropriate AFC enhancements are paid.
We value our staff and fully support their professional development. We are an IBMS approved training laboratory, and will support completion of the IBMS specialist portfolio for automatic progression from Band 5 to Band 6 (under Annex 21).
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
