Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Clinical Genetics Unit, based at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, to join our busy admin team.
The Clinical Genetics Unit provides diagnostic, counselling and support for individuals who have, or are at risk of a variety of inherited conditions.
This post is primarily office based but there may be some scope for flexible working.
If you have experience within the NHS of Microsoft Office packages and databases, of providing administration support to a clinical team, have excellent verbal and written skills, the ability to prioritise and work under pressure and are a conscientious team worker, then we would like to hear from you.
The role would suit an enthusiastic, highly organised administrator who has the capacity to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with an aptitude for multi-tasking. The candidate should also have a high level of attention to detail, strong decision making skills and the ability to effectively manage their time and workload. The post requires good IT skills, working knowledge of Word and Excel and the ability to communicate well with both NHS staff and the general public both over the telephone and face to face.
The post holder should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English with accurate keyboard skills and also have good communication and be able to manage their own time and work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Previous experience of working in the NHS along with RSA III would be desirable.
