Leveraging advanced analytics and AI, our team provides seamless and convenient services, overcoming internal bottlenecks and offering early insights into Geo-data with state-of-the-art visualization tools.
As a Geo-data Consultant, you will be a domain expert in the fields of geotechnics, geology, geophysics, metocean, maritime, and more. You will play a crucial role within our team of Geo-experts, driving the creation of digital features from inception. Collaborating closely with clients and business consultants, you will identify and address Geo-data challenges, crafting innovative solutions that make a difference.
Your expertise will be vital in designing and developing the backend applications of GDI’s digital products. Working alongside a talented product team of software developers and data scientists, you will be the linchpin, ensuring the integrity and applicability of Geo-data models, engineering models, predictive models, and UI/UX interfaces. Your insights and guidance will be invaluable in validating and shaping the future of Geo-data applications, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed client expectations and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Product development and innovation
  • Utilize a design thinking approach for iterative digital product development, incorporating client feedback.
  • Develop and ideate new digital services and applications in geophysics and beyond.
  • Collaborate with the product team to build a comprehensive geophysical database.
  • Client engagement and development
  • Actively participate in client meetings, workshops and interviews.
  • Contribute to the preparation of client proposals for the development and deployment of geophysical applications.
  • Project management and communication
  • Provide development timelines for B2C and B2B-targeted products.
  • Communicate resource needs and timelines to the GDI director for both routine tasks and project-related activities.
  • Collaboration and technical leadership
  • Work closely with software developers for backend and frontend integration of digital applications.
  • Lead the technical validation process of digital geophysical applications.
  • Lead research and development of geophysical applications in collaboration with data scientists.
  • Knowledge sharing and networking
  • Attend and publish key fundamental findings at geoscience conferences.
  • Contribute to patent preparations with Fugro’s IP team.
  • Engage with Fugro’s Global Innovation team for knowledge exchange.

You bring (qualifications & experience)

  • MSc or equivalent in geoscience field or petroleum engineering.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as geoscientist or geophysicist.
  • Experienced with both onshore and offshore geophysical survey technics.
  • Very experienced in programming (min. 5 years) using Python, C, VBA, etc. and developing calculation / processing / interpretation applications.
  • Experienced working with large data set composed of geotechnical and geophysical data.
  • Experience working with geologists and geotechnical engineers to build 3D ground models.
  • Experienced with seismic inversion to derive mechanical properties and/or geotechnical properties.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to self-check, check/review work for others and produce high quality, accurate work.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
