GEOSPATIAL CONSULTANT

Ove Arup & Partners Ireland Limited (trading as Arup) is one of Ireland’s leading engineering consultancies employing more than 750 staff.
We are currently seeking a permanent full time Geospatial Consultant to join our Geospatial team within Advisory & Digital Services at our office at 50 Ringsend Road, Dublin 4. Working with a range of clients in the public and private sectors, this role is an exciting new opportunity for a Geospatial Consultant to support the delivery of multiple Digital technology projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Build and maintain GIS databases to store project data
  • Advise on data management and interoperability approaches and standard processes
  • Deploy and maintain solutions on projects
  • Develop solutions to support sustainability, planning, and infrastructure projects
  • Work with internal technical experts to design and implement geospatial solutions
  • Work with project teams to understand requirements and design solutions to support project delivery
  • Advise on data collection approaches and best practices
  • Provide geospatial support on projects across Europe
  • Advise on geospatial standard processes

Current Projects/Skills and attributes needed

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience working with enterprise GIS solutions (ArcGIS Enterprise or open-source solutions)
  • Experience with web-based GIS (e.g. ArcGIS Online, HTML, CSS, Leaflet, PostGIS)
  • Cartographic or 3D visualization experience
  • Experience in the field of Remote Sensing or Earth Observation
  • Experience and interest in applying spatial solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Proven ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experienced in using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online & QGIS to create Geospatial data solutions and conduct spatial analysis.
  • Experience using data integration tools, including FME software.
  • Experience adhering to or implementing Geospatial data management standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing geospatial solutions
  • Expertise in desktop GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience of data management and interoperability processes in the built environment (e.g. FME, ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud, CAD/BIM packages)
