Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
With an extensive pipeline of upcoming works, we are seeking applications for a Geotechnical Dams Engineer to join our Perth- based Dams Services Team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide professional on and off-site geotechnical dams engineering support for domestic and international projects.
- Prepare and manage proposal and tender documents to a high standard, as required.
- Prepare technical reports and deliverables in a format and style that is professional, readily understood and satisfies the specific requirements of the project scope.
- Demonstrate an ability to plan, organise and take responsibility for geotechnical site investigations and assessments.
- Provide expertise, review and comment on complex civil and geotechnical aspects of dams and tailings projects, modelling, and reporting.
- Ensure specifications, designs and analysis meet project requirements.
Other key areas of responsibility can include:
- Embankment dam seepage and slope stability.
- Risk assessments of earth and tailings dams, in accordance with ANCOLD and GISTM guidelines.
- Dam safety inspections, audits, review and assessments in accordance with ANCOLD and ICOLD guidelines.
- Design and construction supervision of earthworks related to tailings and water dams, heap leach pads, and foundation earthworks.
- Design, surveillance, and audit of instrumentations and monitoring systems.
- Interpretation of site investigation reports s and advanced in-situ testing.
- Numerical modelling and analysis of earth structures.
- Hydraulic design for dams and spillways.
- Preparation of contract documents and drawings.
