JOB DESCRIPTION

2H Offshore is a global engineering contractor specialising in the design, engineering and integrity management of offshore structures, topsides facilities, subsea components and riser and conductor systems for the offshore renewables and oil and gas sectors. Both market sectors require similar engineering skill sets, and our breadth of experience in offshore structures and environments allows us to provide expertise at all stages of a project: feasibility and concept design, detailed design, procurement management, fabrication support, installation support, monitoring, integrity management, asset life extension and decommissioning.
2H Offshore is a leading independent international consultancy at the forefront of offshore and subsea engineering. We specialise in three main areas:
Fixed & floating wind, wave & tidal structures
Subsea risers, umbilicals, cables and conductors
Minimum facility platforms & subsea structures
2H Offshore is looking to hire a Geotechnical Engineer on a full time, permanent basis, to join the team in one of our UK, France offices or remote working. The Geotechnical Engineer will have experience in Offshore Geotechnical Engineering and will lead, further develop and undertake engineering and design activities for our Offshore Renewables and Oil and Gas business.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in geotechnical design or site investigation, preferably within the offshore energy industry
  • Degree level educated with a Bachelors or Masters degree in civil engineering or similar field Practical knowledge of ground investigation, geotechnical engineering and geological processes
  • Experience in conducting and supervising data assessments and geotechnical analyses
  • Experience in bespoke geotechnical problem solving and solution justification
  • Managing and resolving interfaces between engineering disciplines (for example Structural, Facilities, Operations)
  • Knowledge of offshore geotechnical engineering codes such as API, DNVGL, ISO, or other international codes
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentation

Responsibilities:

  • You will take responsibility for performing and supervising the geotechnical design and analysis of offshore foundations working closely with the structural engineers
  • You will be expected to use appropriate tools and to design, size, and verify the performance of the geotechnical design
  • Work both independently and within a multi-discipline team to solve engineering problems
  • Deliver quality in your engineering and reporting
  • Your role will include communication of the design solutions towards clients, third-party suppliers and contractors and mentoring team members by actively sharing your expertise and experience
