We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with 5-15 years of relevant experience, to fill a permanent full-time position based out of Terrace, British Columbia. This position will work with our team of recognized industry experts within our Engineering group.
The salary range for this position is $90K to $140K per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Some of the Responsibilities You May Have:

  • Planning and supervising geotechnical investigations.
  • Evaluating geologic conditions and geotechnical characteristics for assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures and earth structures.
  • Conducting seismic assessments.
  • Conducting dam safety reviews and completing remediation designs.
  • Conducting or review of slope stability and embankment assessments and completing designs.
  • Analyzing field data and preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations.
  • Communicating with clients and sub-consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Conducting construction monitoring activities for various projects.
  • Periodic travel, including overnight stays, to project sites to oversee field investigations, construction QA/QC activities, audits, or other activities will be required.
  • Project management of small and medium multidiscipline projects including budget, schedule and quality control.
  • Proposal and project report writing and review.
  • Collaborating as a team member and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications that Would Make You A Great Candidate:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological Engineering or similar.
  • 5 - 15 years of experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GeoStudio 2007 Products and MS Office.
  • Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the project by being a team player.
  • Travel will be required in this position. Must be physically capable of performing the required field duties.
  • Must possess a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent).
  • Eligible for registration as an EGBC Professional Engineer.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
