Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Geotechnical Engineering Team Lead plays an important role in improving the team’s competence by leading and developing a team of geotechnical engineers. Your focus will be to guarantee that geotechnical projects are completed successfully. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities.

As the successful candidate for the role of Geotechnical Engineering Team Lead, you will meet the following criteria;

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to build a team of geotechnical engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment conducive to professional growth and development.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the optimal utilisation of team members’ skills and capabilities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in geotechnical engineering, including site investigations, soil testing, foundation design, slope stability analysis, and earthworks.
  • Review and interpret geotechnical data, conducting thorough analyses and assessments to inform engineering recommendations and decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in geotechnical engineering, incorporating new knowledge and techniques into project work as appropriate.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, objectives, and expectations.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to clients, offering expert guidance and recommendations on geotechnical engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new opportunities for client engagement and project acquisition.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, including 10 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing geotechnical projects from conception to completion, with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve collective goals
