Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role involves responsibility for managing day to day accounting and compliance activities of the German Legal entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing US GAAP accounting and the local reporting impacts, including delivery of local GAAP financials, audit coordination, and managing the cross-functional relationships with service centers, different Finance groups, EY and Global accounting group.
This role will report to the Central Europe Accounting manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualifications; ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent preferable

  • 5+ years of broad Finance experience with focus on German Accounting

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of German Statutory Accounting GAAP (HGB), US GAAP and regulatory principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to research accounting issues and translate into recommendations
  • Experience in support of external audits
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Clear communication skills both written and verbal at all levels and especially with senior management
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Strong business partnering and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to manage project deliverables through ambiguous and complex business environments
  • Innovative mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the day to day accounting of German Legal Entities, maintaining and analyzing the ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports
  • German and US GAAP accounting oversight including managing and facilitating the relationship with the various Center Of Excellence (COE) teams and Corp. Accounting groups
  • The role covers local Statutory and Regulatory Compliance together with supporting US GAAP accounting
  • Ensuring the accurate compilation, measurement, analysis and reporting of accounting data
  • Develops and maintains the policies that govern the Company’s National Statistical and other reporting processes
  • Internal and external stakeholders management and driving requirements with external auditors and relevant government authorities
  • Responsibility for business partnering with other business groups - Treasury, Tax, Ops Finance to understand the business roadmap, identify the technical accounting issues and provide accounting recommendations
  • Driving key global accounting initiatives as part of a wider International Accounting organization
  • Linking and partnering locally with Site Management
