The GHM Engineer role will interact with GE Engineers, GE Field Services teams, and customer personnel to provide technical support and improved Reliability and Safety of Generators. This role covers supporting the Generator Health Monitoring (GHM) platform and the wider engineering communities with generator diagnostics. These activities are mainly related engineering services for GHM platform. The GHM Engineer role will also provide significant technical support for condition monitoring design including product development programs, deployment, and analysis for GHM products.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / MINDSET:

  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of generator design and operational principles.
  • Experience with power plant controls and instrumentation; knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Diagnostics and Quality experience in Field Engineering / customer installations or deployments.
  • Experience with additional sensing technologies in power plant environment.
  • Technician level electrical troubleshooting.
  • Good IT skills as the GHM Box has a Microsoft Operating system.
  • Flexibility in operation and willing to travel (if needed).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Controls Engineering, or IT.
  • Experience with participating multiple small- to medium-sized technical projects simultaneously.
  • Solid analytical competencies, ability to troubleshoot.
  • Strong customer interaction skills.
  • Strong communication skills (English and Polish, written and verbal)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering services for the GHM platform.
  • Deliver projects following S-Q-D-C (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost) business priorities.
  • Assist regional engineers with diagnostic analysis and engineering dispositions, provide technical guidance for resolution of generator fleet. Reports and case resolutions must be accurate, and completed within allocated timescales to meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Author or contribute to the development of procedures / work instructions / standards and design practices associated with this technology area.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and diagnostic practices / design standards changes or other appropriate changes in practices to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure compliance to deliverables in GE procedures. Ensure technical documentation, EHS documentation, and customs compliance for products shipped to site. Support customer and apprentice training.
  • Support development (specification input, validation & test, pilot deployment, etc.) of new Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) products and services.
  • Travel to customer sites will be required.
