GIS Analyst Wanted
Job Title: GIS Officer / GIS Analyst
Duration: 6 months
Location: North of the River, Western Australia
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GIS Officer / GIS Analyst to join our clients’ team on a short-term basis. Our organisation is currently in the process of implementing the latest version of the ArcGIS suite, and we require a candidate who is proficient in this software to support our ongoing project. The position is based in a government body in Western Australia, so familiarity with local government practices or previous experience working in a WA government organisation is highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience working with the latest version of the ArcGIS suite
- Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial data analysis, and cartographic design
- Previous experience working in a local government environment or WA government body is preferred
- Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and visualisation using GIS software
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide essential support and expertise in the implementation of the ArcGIS suite
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure smooth execution of the ESRI implementation project
- Assist in data management, analysis, and mapping using GIS software
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making processes
- Generate accurate and insightful reports, presentations, and visualisations
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
- Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their GIS skills and knowledge
