JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintain CNA’s role as a leading news service by commissioning and developing compelling original content as well as planning value-added coverage of day-to-day and significant events.
Responsibilities :
- Work with another Global Editor on the International Desk to oversee CNA’s coverage of South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, US, Latin America, Africa, Australia and other Oceania regions.
- Develop story ideas, approaches and scripting with affiliate and in-house correspondents to produce original content such as multi-part news package series and long-form programmes.
- Plan coverage for diaried and major events with affiliate and in-house correspondents.
- Evaluate on-the-day and other requests from various departments in the newsroom and Business Units with affiliate and in-house correspondents to determine deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements :
- At least five-to-seven years of experience working in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Be creative, be bold and be a visual storyteller, while encouraging and cultivating those qualities in others around you.
- Possess a strong understanding of the big stories in APAC and elsewhere in the world, with an ability to help explain and contextualise information for an Asian audience.
- Ability to handle the pressures that go along with a 24-hour news channel.
- Be an organised person and a high-level multitasker.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Be prepared to work irregular hours.
