Description:

The Goldman Sachs FICC business enables our clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk. We make markets and facilitate client transactions in fixed income, currency and commodity products. In addition, we make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.
Commodities is a key trading desk within Global Banking and Markets. The Commodities business is global in nature with businesses in London, New York and Singapore.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in either the quantitative modelling of or trading in the intraday and short term power markets
  • Previous experience in developing algorithmic trading strategies preferred
  • Previous experience in quantitative asset optimization beneficial
  • Fully conversant with Python’s popular data science and machine learning libraries

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the buildout and operation of our global intraday and short term power trading platform
  • Development of automated and systematic trading strategies with respect to the intraday power markets
  • Work on all aspects of fundamental modelling and challenging asset optimization problems
  • Day-to-day supervision of the algorithmic trading platform and active risk management in the short term power marketsBe part of a global team with rotating shifts encompassing regular business days, weekends and holidays
