Job description
King’s Global Business Development (GBD) is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to work on a range of new and existing international partnerships predominantly based in South-East Asia. The project manager will work with internal and external stakeholders to plan and oversee projects, monitoring and reporting on progress, and controlling budgets.
Reporting to Dr Helen Bailey, Deputy Vice President (Global Business Development), this is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with experience of administering education projects. Knowledge of academic programme structures and experience of managing budgets are essential.
The GBD team sits within International, Engagement & Service (IES) which is a new Directorate at King’s that brings together the expertise of teams engaging with communities and partners locally, nationally, and globally. IES provides strategic leadership for the university’s engagement at home and abroad, while providing a base for a portfolio of innovative programmes that generate and measure impact and serve the communities with which we work.
At King’s, our definition of diversity encompasses and goes beyond the characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010 to include everything that makes us unique, from our backgrounds and experiences to our personalities and ways of thinking. IES welcomes applicants from communities underrepresented in the higher education sector and expects all applicants to demonstrate clear commitment to diversity and inclusion.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 5 years
This is a full-time post.

Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of the progress on projects, maintaining effective relations and meeting University and external reporting requirements.
Monitor budgets; ensure invoicing is completed promptly; produce regular financial reports for review within GBD and more widely within King’s.
Set up risk registers for projects and ensure risk monitoring is carried out regularly.
Support the communication strategy for each project working with Faculty, University and external Communications teams.
Draft relevant papers, proposals and policy documents related to development and/or operations.
Ensure the projects adhere to University and partner rules and requirements.
Independently support and manage project steering groups set up to monitor the progress on projects, and other meetings relating to GBD business.
Work with the GBD team to plan, cost and develop new partnerships.
Undertake other duties as assigned by the GBD team.
Work with Fundraising & Supporter Development to plan, create and deliver impactful annual stewardship for shared key institutional relationships. Agree and fulfil delivery of these stewardship activities on time and to a high standard.
Act as Secretary to selected committees, draft, collate and share papers, and report back to relevant stakeholders.
