GLOBAL CATEGORY MANAGER, MOTORS

Are you an experienced and dedicated Global Category Manager, with a passion for optimizing key procurement activities? And do you like to make a difference in our global procurement team, where ambitions are high? Then this position might be the perfect opportunity for you.
The Global Category Manager for motors will be located regionally in one of DESMI’s offices in Europe but will report directly to Global Sourcing & Procurement Manager and will be part of the Global Sourcing & Procurement Team.
You will be the lead Global Category manager, and in collaboration with peers in China, ensure we meet market requirements in both Asia, Europe and US. You will work with both sales directors to identify market requirements, and production directors to ensure competitive cost and supply chain resilience.
The motor category is 20M EUR in spend, 63% in Asia, 37% in Europe. Spend across all DESMI´s product range, low volume high mix.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsible for the sourcing strategy for motors globally, ensuring the right balance of cost and resilience according to regional market requirements.
  • Define and implement motor sourcing strategy and contractual framework.
  • Negotiations, frame agreement, VMI and specific high value project
  • Governance and improve category performance.
  • Ensure, present monthly reports and improve performance from motor suppliers across regions. Make route course analysis and coordinate actions with regional category manager and local purchases until the targets and balance of category performance is reached.

  • Manage vendor inventory and vendor lead time
  • Manage surplus stock to vendor
  • Manage supplier commitment, and category management framework supporting regional/local category managers
