Key Accountabilities include:

  • You will work with key stakeholders across Supply & Sales to identify and provide high-performing supply chains that enable business performance & growth
  • Improve the management and performance of strategic materials, goods and services by developing and implementing commodity strategies & negotiating contracts that improve overall value, service levels and minimise risk
  • You will improve global processes and governance of our Sourcing & procurement activities
  • Support the implementation of a digital strategy to drive performance metrics, including in-market intelligence and strategic commodity performance status
  • Develop sources of supply that meet our growing Sustainability requirements, including net-zero and biodiversity
  • Drive continuous improvement across the function, driven through adopting best practice & sharing knowledg

Responsibilities:

THIS ROLE WILL FOCUS ON:

You will develop and lead the Global Plastics Commodity sourcing Strategy for WMFTS, this includes raw material for inhouse moulding, subcon moulding partners, and procured 3rd party plastic components.
You will collaborate with a range of key stakeholders across the organisation, developing open and effective relationships to ensure aligned high performance and Supply Chain Excellence - these will include, Manufacturing, Quality & Compliance, EHS, NPI, SBD, Sustainability & Sales.
As the commodity specialist for plastics, you will be instrumental in developing and execution of the business strategy for BioPure based in Hampshire, our Centre of Excellence for moulding. You will spend regular time on site and being within commutable distance is a preference though will not rule out suitable candidates.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Have demonstrable commodity management experience on a global basis ideally within plastics commodity.
  • Have a strong background in global Sourcing & Procurement
  • Be technically competent, including quality, process engineering and lean methodologies
  • Able to take complex subjects and/or data and appropriately simplify to turn into actionable improvement plans.
  • Experienced in managing projects and working as part of a project team.
  • Be focussed on robust delivery to implement and embed improvements and be able to work under pressure.
  • Be educated to Degree level, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Be professionally qualified (CIPS, APICS etc)
  • Be willing to travel UK and globally when required – 10 – 20%
  • Regular travel to our manufacturing facility near Portsmouth
