  • Major experience in managing pensions across the globe in multi-national firms and related leadership expertise
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present to complex issues/data with a high level of clarity and impact to c-suite, HRMs, and participants
  • Exceptional intrinsic and working knowledge of developing, executing, and monitoring strategies in pensions and related fields such as investments, insurance and overall financial wellness
  • Ability to engage productively with senior leaders across geographies, including the ability to constructively challenge the status quo and solve problems
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, while driving towards clarity and solutions

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Leads GE Vernova’s strategy, governance, and compliance for international pension programs. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices based on industry and regulatory environment. Oversees approximately 100 plans both defined benefits (DB) and defined contribution (DC) retirement plans across our International operations (excluding the United States).
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of retirement plan management, compliance, and strategy development to ensure the long-term financial security of our employees . The Global pension leader will be expected to provide guidance on how to implement new processes and systems, as well as helping to ensure that existing ones are running smoothly. The role will create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for pension programs and own the global governance.
The role will also help develop and drive the evolution and execution of the GEV’s pension strategy globally, bringing forward innovative ideas and best practices and ensuring that the vision continually delivers against the GEV business priorities.
The role will be expected to learn and adopt a LEAN mindset, engaging with GE Vernova colleagues to optimize processes and drive efficiency across the organization.
Continuous improvement skills are essential for the role to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to implement those improvements.
This role will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing the pension processes, and operational model with an eye on creating a framework for process optimization.
The Global Pension Leader will also be expected to partner very closely with all regional benefits leaders and other members of the GE Vernova Total Rewards team. In addition, they should build and maintain relationships with colleagues in key functions within GE Vernova such as Finance, Legal, Tax, Sourcing and People Operations. The individual must have a proven track record of creating and managing stakeholders, including internal and external fiduciaries, regulators, vendors, and social partner representatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan Management: Oversee all aspects of the ~100+ GEV’s global retirement plans, including design, implementation, and ongoing administration. Drive execution of large-scale initiatives with strong stakeholder management and execution skills. Establish and review governance models. Provide leadership and direction to evaluate, modify and recommend strategies to manage GE Vernova’s international pension plans
  • Compliance: Work with GE Vernova’s legal, finance, and HR teams to ensure regulatory compliance, plan interpretation, financial accounting, reporting and funding requirements are maintained
  • Market alignment: Continuously monitor pension practices in the markets in which GEV operate by leveraging data analysis, market competitive reviews, surveys, financial analysis, and relationships to continue to maintain best in class programs. Stay informed of industry and legal trends that may influence programs
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to optimize plan performance and cost-effectiveness
  • Communication and Education: Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about their retirement benefits and support them in making informed decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with retirement plans, including investment risk, funding adequacy, and legal compliance.
  • Policy Development: Develop and update retirement benefit policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to assess the financial impact of retirement benefit programs on the company’s overall financial health.
  • Global Collaboration: Collaborate with Region Benefits & Pension teams, HR teams, finance, legal, and other stakeholders across different regions to align retirement benefit strategies with business goals.
  • Communication: Partner with the GEV internal Communications team to develop a thoughtful communications strategy related to pensions to build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues at all levels and all locations driving value appreciation.
  • Process & Operational Excellence: Analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement streamlined and standardised procedures across the organization. Drive LEAN, Standard Operating Procedures and process excellence.
