The Global Risk Management team is looking for a Data Scientist who will be developing innovative ways of solving complex business problems through the use of data analytics with an Agile approach.
You will work with a highly dynamic and high-performing team, who will perform internal audit projects across Zone Europe and on a global level, reviewing all areas of the organization to provide assurance and solve real business problems, understand underlying processes, and make recommendations to add value to the business. You will also grow a wide network of contacts at all levels in the Zone and globally.

What will you be doing:

  • Use your data analytics expertise to leverage available data sets to bring actionable and value-adding analysis to stakeholders and solve complex business issues such as; use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to find previously unknown solutions to current problems. Test data mining models to select the most appropriate ones for use on a project. Build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to colleagues, customers during the project.
  • Depending on the review, either be part of the team or perform a review on your own supported by the manager and/or director of the department.
  • Act as an owner for your part of the reviews. You will conduct interviews, understand the processes, perform in-depth analysis and create visibility that didn’t exist before.
  • Create and validate recommendations for presentation to senior management based on your findings.
  • Practically use and regularly improve your technical/functional knowledge as well as learn new things through our department academy. You will also be supported by our team of data scientists.
  • Need to step out of your comfort zone and develop your contact network in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Be required to tackle new problems and learn new processes on average every 3 months.
  • Be part of and embrace the Agile framework to perform risk reviews.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in position where you developed your business knowledge and analytical skills (e.g. business analyst, consultant, business controller, data analyst).
  • You have a proven track record in big data techniques and programming, ideally query languages (SQL and variations), data mining or reporting tools (Python, R, PowerBI, web crawling, etc.). You are able to build the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) of your data model with the help of our data scientists for your biggest challenges.
  • You have a problem-solving mindset, you do not stop investigating until you have found the root cause of the issue.
  • You are a good communicator, capable of clearly describing complex problems and recommending solutions to senior management (stakeholder management experience).
  • You are fluent (Oral and Written) in English. Any other language is an asset.

Good to have and willing to develop the skills:

  • Any knowledge of SAP that you can leverage to perform in-depth analysis during reviews.
  • A good understanding of basic accounting and finance principles.
  • Experience with Agile methodology approach to run projects
