About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Engineering Leader to develop, implement and mature strategic sourcing strategies as part of the procurement leadership team to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. With focus on: managing vendor performance and reduce direct cost of raw materials in liaison with category leader; reducing raw material days on hand and agreed service and inventory levels and reducing defects in raw material quality and reduce variance in raw material supply.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree higher in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain)
  • A minimum of 10 years technical or supply chain experience
  • A minimum of 5 years people leadership Experience in QE and / or SC
  • Experience supporting commercial product and new product development
  • Experience working globally
  • Experience embedding and aligning procurement processes and goals with overall business objectives and anticipating future market trends and challenges
  • Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives, phasing in and out of products and suppliers and how to avoid supply disruption
  • Excels in building positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Experience upholding high ethical standards promoting fairness
  • Travel up to 20%

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Supplier Quality Engineering Team’s performance management, talent planningand compensation processes
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that raw material manufacturing processes adhere to agreed-upon quality standards
  • Determine negotiation strategy with suppliers to shift to performance management with a focus on product quality and product quality improvements (first time right)
  • Work with Legal and Contract Specialist to ensure we have an E2E match from source to sold to ensure we’re selling what we can reliable and consistently source
  • Ensure specifications are risk assessed and mitigated for Fitness For Use scalability during NPD
  • Drive root cause and corrective action of quality issues during new product development and commercialization, and de-risk incoming supply lines
  • Integrate and align functional priorities with Procurement’s goals and initiatives including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and supplier relationship management
  • Develop a high performing team with the appropriate skills, knowledge and bench strength to drive functional excellence and deliver on the long term needs of the business
