If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Global Supply Manager (GSM) to execute the strategic sourcing and buying for our Gigafactory Berlin’s indirect procurement commodities with special attention to the procurement of our Gigafactory’s Waste Management and Recycling Services.
Based in Berlin, you will report directly to the Group Manager of Indirect Procurement. Your background should demonstrate a proven track record in procurement commodity management, strategy development, and vendor management.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategic sourcing of suppliers, focusing on achieving the best value and excellent sustainability outcomes.
- Conduct TCO and should-cost analyses to inform negotiation strategies and procurement decisions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in supplier selection and management.
- Implement agile project management techniques to enhance procurement processes, ensuring flexibility, rapid response to changes, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, employing a strategic approach to supplier management that supports long-term partnerships and innovation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with broader business objectives, leveraging insights from operations, finance, legal, and sustainability departments.
- Drive the adoption of sustainable procurement practices, ensuring that our procurement decisions align with our commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to continually assess and optimize the procurement function, staying ahead of market trends and adjusting strategies to meet changing business needs.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a demonstrated ability in strategic supplier sourcing, TCO, and should-cost analysis.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with proficiency in utilizing data analysis tools and methodologies to drive procurement decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in managing complex supplier relationships, with a focus on achieving favorable terms and fostering innovation.
- Superior communication and collaboration abilities, ensuring effective teamwork across different departments and with external partners.
- Deep commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing, with an understanding of how procurement practices can contribute to our mission: to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
- A track record of reducing costs while fostering sustainable supplier relationships.
- Availability to spend over 80% of your time at our Berlin office and/or at vendor locations, furthering our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
