Responsibilities:
Aligning to our organisational goals and our Co-op’s commitment to excellence across all health, safety and wellbeing, you will lead the provision of best-in-class and contemporary health and safety (H&S) support across our NZ Operations business unit, comprising 9000 people in multiple high risk and complex manufacturing sites and locations.
Fostering a ‘line-led health and safety’ mindset, you will strategically drive transformative change in safety leadership, mindset, and practices, enabling a climate in which leaders are authentically committed to systemic risk reduction, operational learning, and continuous improvement. Balancing the need to be involved but independent, you will act as the day-to-day H&S partner to the Chief Operations Officer’s leadership team, helping them to shape and deliver multi-year H&S plans, driving a shift towards critical control management and verification, a restorative learning culture, and an appreciation of contemporary H&S approaches all intended to create healthier and safer work for people.
Reporting to the Director Global Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will lead multiple teams of diverse H&S professionals and will be responsible for ensuring structured and measurable continuous improvement in their professional capabilities and service delivery. This is a tremendous opportunity to apply your proven executive partnering expertise to shape a safer and healthier workplace in one of New Zealand’s most complex and high-risk environments.
