Description:

EXPERIENCE

Experience of managing teams within a corporate environment
Experience of managing remote teams in multiple regions
Extensive Web development experience
Proficiency in Java multi-threaded full-stack development
Proficiency in HTML and JavaScript development
Good understanding and experience of agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Program and project management experience of medium size projects
Proven experience in leading website and mobile application development teams in an agile environment, preferably within financial sector (but not essential)
Knowledge of database systems and understanding how to integrate databases into applications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, to effectively engage with stakeholders and development teams, and experience in leading cross-functional workshops.
Proficiency in standard DevOps tools like Git, Bitbucket, Ansible
Understanding of server-side technologies to build APIs
Understanding of mobile specific concepts such as responsive design, touch events, device capabilities and performance optimization for mobile device

Solid academic background in engineering, sciences and/or economics

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE

The Research and Content Development Team Lead is accountable and responsible for the IT delivery of the M360 Web and Mobile platform
The team lead is accountable for leading a distributed team across India, London Paris, taking ownership of technical architectural decisions and liaising directly with the Global Markets Front Office business to drive the platform forwards and provide solutions to the needs of the M360 business.

Liaise with the Front Office product managers and business to prioritise work, manage the backlog of features.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development team lead responsible for the delivery of the M360 application
To establish a collaborative working relationship with business stakeholders:
o ensure that a corresponding IT strategy is developed and implemented
o ensure that corresponding IT needs are properly documented to allow for estimation and planning
o fully understand the business needs
To own the technical solution of the platform, ensuring the code is robust, maintainable, secure and performant ensuring the technology stack aligns with the project requirements.
Regularly engage with product owners to understand project vision, business requirements, strategic goals and translate them into actionable development plans
Acts as a liaison between development teams and product owners, ensuring effective communication of technical requirements, progress updates, and any impediments that may impact project delivery
Partner with related IT teams (e.g. application support, infrastructure, front to back) to ensure a fully co-ordinated approach to development, deployment and support of the platform.
To drive initiatives for process improvements, technological advancements, and best practices adoption
To provide regular feedback to their Head of Department on performance of individuals and participate where appropriate in appraisals and performance management.
To provide regular and direct communication on key topics: overall project status, risk/issues, and changes in business drivers to all stakeholders.
To manage, motivate and drive specified project team/s to maximise available resources and ensure delivery meets deadlines within budget.
To mentor and coach direct reports as appropriate to maximise potential of the team
To work with remote teams across multiple regions
