As Good Receiver,

The Goods Receiver will have overall responsibility for ensuring the hotel follows the Company’s established procedures, for receiving and distributing inventory and stock throughout the hotel. Key aspects of your role will include:

  • Receive and organize deliveries by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility, and deliver items to appropriate department.
  • Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
  • Inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots.
  • Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
  • Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and place in proper storage areas.
  • To adhere to and assist in the compliance of Health and Safety e.g. COSHH & Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure that all Fire regulations are maintained by making sure that the Fire Exits are not blocked.
  • Be familiar with and practice the safe handling, care and storage of all equipment.
  • To ensure that all maintenance issues have been recorded correctly, and that all mechanical and manual equipment are used as instructed
  • Report any machine defects to the maintenance team and ensures that the correct action is taken.
  • Ensure all goods received by the Loading Bay are of the correct quality, quantity and description as per Purchase Order
  • Ensure all Delivery Notes are signed, and time stamped by receiver and delivery temperature recorded as appropriate, and copies are forwarded to the chefs.
  • To record any damaged goods received on Delivery Note and report to Head Chef.
  • To notify, or deliver goods received to the various departments as appropriate.
  • To ensure relevant procedures are carried out at all times in relation to Health & Safety, Hygiene, Security, Fire & Emergencies procedures, and regulations.
  • To ensure that the Loading Bay is kept clean, tidy and in hygienic conditions at all times.
  • Ensure your team follow and comply with sanitation and cleaning procedures and pest control guidelines, reporting pest control issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure that all documentation relating to food safety, hygiene, sanitising, HACCP, temperature control, cleaning/disinfecting/sanitising is completed on shift and that any discrepancies are noted and flagged to the Executive sous Chef.
  • Ensure flawless compliance with local & national government and company food safety, health and hygiene procedures.
