Job Description
As a Program Manager at Visa, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs for the DPS Program Management team. You will plan requirements with stakeholders and guide programs through the entire lifecycle considering all stakeholder inputs across different functions. This includes monitoring project schedules and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that multiple, simultaneous projects are working together to drive to the success of an entire program.
You will be supporting project stakeholders in identifying risks and bottlenecks and using your influence to alleviate those roadblocks. You will be responsible for the execution and delivery through completion for multiple projects within the program. Programs can often span office locations and time zones, and your responsibility will be to keep all stakeholders coordinated on the program’s status, milestones and deadlines.
The person filling this position will be responsible and accountable for coordinating activities and communicating status of projects related to new products, features and services that drive client satisfaction, differentiate the Visa DPS product offering, and drive Visa DPS Service revenues.

SUMMARY:

  • Coordinate and support strategic projects in the business unit.
  • Manage special projects with end-to-end ownership and accountability.
  • Achieve project goals by engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels across Visa, including technical subject matter experts, client services partners, vendors, and Visa senior management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 3+ years of experience in business program/project management
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management
  • Strong facilitation skills. Must be able to elicit requirements and action items from various personalities across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Adept at resource allocation, time management, and detailed planning
  • Ability to foresee potential issues, devise contingency plans, and navigate complex organizational structures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 +years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Strong product development skills with a sound understanding of payment technology, risk and fraud management, other ecosystem requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in the payments industry (e.g. payment processing, acquiring, payment technology provider, payment brand etc.)
  • Prior experience in risk and compliance program management is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with linear software development life cycles and software development methodologies such as Agile (SAFe) and waterfall.
  • Aptitude to collaborate with cross functional teams to build robust, reliable and scalable payment solutions
  • Aptitude for understanding, digesting and analyzing complex systems integration.
  • Ability to work some flexible hours due to varying time zones across Visa’s regions.
  • Comfortable undertaking chief of staff responsibilities, including calendar management, leading team meetings, and driving initiatives
    Additional Information
    Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
    Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,700.00 to 140,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Responsibilities:

  • Program and Project Meeting Management: develop and prioritize agenda topics, follow up on action items and manage closure of open items. Coordinate the agenda activities around the project plans, financial results, stakeholder engagement, and ‘hot’ issues / opportunities.
  • Plan for critical meetings including schedule management, pre-work, meeting topics, supporting materials and follow-ups.
  • Develop and execute on program deliverables relevant to DPS governance and compliance areas
  • Track action plans and develop communication on progress
  • Work through challenges, identify bottlenecks and dependencies, and unblock teams for execution.

Support the following:

  • Work daily with cross functional teams to gather and communicate project status, progress, milestones, deliverables, outcomes, and lessons learned to all applicable parties via various communication channels
  • Oversee department operational and administrative functions, including ensuring departmental compliance with Visa’s standard operating procedures, as needed
  • General day-to-day support, to support adapting prioritization and execution of business objectives in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrate and leverage strong business and financial acumen
  • Exercise influence management with minimal authoritative control. Hold individuals responsible for their tasks, taking into account their multiple priorities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
