WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, leading advocacy campaigns and carrying out direct stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes in Nigeria, South Africa, UK, Egypt, Middle East, Kenya, Morocco and other countries within the EMEA region
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the fintech industry and cross-border payments is a plus.
  • Fluent English.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies to advance the company’s objectives in the region’s strategic markets (Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, United Kingdom, Spain, South Africa).
  • Identify and prioritize key issues and opportunities within the regulatory and legislative environment.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on the potential impacts of these issues and appropriate responses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, agencies, and other relevant stakeholders, such as business councils.
  • Represent dLocal in meetings, hearings, and other forums with government entities.
  • Plan and execute advocacy campaigns to support dLocal’s positions on key issues within the fintech industry.
  • Stay informed about legislative and regulatory developments that may impact dLocal’s operations in the region.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on proposed legislation and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a system to track and report on key advocacy activities carried out by influential associations and business councils.
