Description:
Bay Ferries Limited is currently recruiting GP Stewards/Purser for casual positions working on MV Fundy Rose, a year-round ferry service across the Bay of Fundy between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick.
This is a casual, unlicensed position and may lead to a full-time position.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in the passenger ship industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven track record of safe operations.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Valid CDN # and marine medical.
- MED - STCW 6.1 & STCW 6.2 (Mandatory).

Responsibilities:
Stewards ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers while onboard and undertake cleaning of the public areas, washroom and crew areas of the vessel. They assist with embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, and engage with customers to provide information, assistance and overall professional, friendly customer service. Stewards may also be required to perform other General-Purpose duties, such as Deckhand. Fundy Rose is a live-aboard vessel, and Stewards must be prepared to reside on the vessel for 7 days.
The Purser is responsible for the care of passengers. Passengers must be greeted and cared for in a friendly and courteous manner. Pursers must ensure that special attention and assistance is provided when needed. They are responsible for making PA announcements to advise passengers of any changes to scheduled arrival or departure times. Other duties as assigned.
The Purser: is the crew member identified to be the person in charge during a medical emergency.
