Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

A new permanent full-time opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Senior Pharmacist - Perioperative Medicine to join the team at Northern Health. This role will cover 80 hours per fortnight, Monday-Friday.
This role will become an integral part of our growing pharmacy workforce (which comprises of over 100 pharmacists and 30 technicians) and has responsibility for the organisation and implementation of pharmacy services to Northern Health’s Perioperative Services including Operating Theatres and Pre-Admission Clinic in providing clinical assessments, medical advice and medication management pre-operatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Govern supervision activities to promote staff development and compliance to standards of practice.
  • Participate in formulating the strategic plan for pharmacy services, addressing hospital priorities, adapting to emerging trends, and achieving objectives through change initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior pharmacists and technicians under guidance of the Director of Pharmacy to create, enhance, execute, and evaluate tailored educational programs for identified staffing groups.
  • Identify research opportunities and drive the research agenda for the pharmacy department.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A recognised degree in Pharmacy from an approved tertiary institution and hold full current AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy
  • High level leadership, negotiation and decision-making skills
