Job Description
The Cloud graduate programme will provide the graduates with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and skills in cloud computing, preparing them for a career in the rapidly growing field of cloud technology. The program will include training, mentorship, and real-world workloads to help graduates develop their expertise and kickstart their careers in the cloud industry.
Do you use Gmail, Youtube, Instagram, Twitter/X, tikTok, Facebook, Microsoft Office 365, LinkedIn and Netflix?. Have you ever wondered how these online services are available globally with consistent user experience?. Do you know how social media platforms and video streaming services are able to provide you with unlimited content all over the world?.
The answer to the above is “Cloud computing”; services such as Netflix, Instagram and Youtube use cloud computing power and global infrastructure availability to provide seemingly unlimited content & services 24/7 globally. The biggest cloud computing service providers in the world include Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Cloud computing is the delivery of on demand computing services over the internet to offer faster innovation, flexible resources and economies of scale.
Standard Bank has partnered with Amazon Web Services(AWS) and Microsoft Azure to be our cloud computing service providers. We need you to be part of our cloud enablement engine in Standard Bank.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
Supporting the deployment and management of cloud-based applications and services.
Monitoring and optimizing cloud resources to ensure performance and cost-efficiency.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud infrastructure, security, and cloud native services.
Collaborating with senior engineers and team members to implement best practices and security measures.
Participating in the planning and execution of cloud migration projects.
Learning and staying up-to-date on cloud technologies and trends.
Providing technical support and assistance to internal feature teams or clients using cloud services.
Using innovative cloud services such as AI & machine learning to continuous improve our cloud platform and processes.
Qualifications
You have completed a degree / honours degree/ masters degree or currently completing it in 2024 in:
Computer Science or related field with basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner)
South African Citizen
Maximum of two years’ work experience
Minimum of 60% average over all years of study
