We are currently looking for talented and motivated Graduate Engineer to join our busy Civil Structures team in Edinburgh. This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.

Responsibilities:

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

At Sweco, we draw upon a combined knowledge base of 22,000 experts across Northern Europe. Working as part of the Scotland Civil Structures team, you’ll support a wide variety of bridge and other highway structures projects and be involved in a range of activities including undertaking inspections and preparing technical outputs including calculations, drawings, sketches, reports.
You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce, ensuring that work is delivered in line with the agreed timescales and ensuring you understand and comply with our Company Integrated Management system and all relevant health and safety legislation.
You will learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our customers to deliver technical excellence and as you develop be given opportunity to work more independently.
As a graduate at Sweco you will be enrolled on the Graduate Scheme which will provide the opportunity to visit other UK offices, socialise with other Sweco Graduates and provide you with the soft-skills to succeed within your role and the wider business.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL HAVE:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
  • A strong interest in engineering and the urban environment.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and are passionate to find a quick, innovative and practical solution.
  • The ability to communicate and work collaboratively to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues and clients and enjoy working in a team environment, sharing knowledge and demonstrate pride in work.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure that project timescales are met.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills including the ability to process and analyse data.
  • A clean driving license and be willing to travel to sites and offices within the UK when required.
