Description:
The Role
Fisher & Paykel is an iconic business driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious. We take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our purpose and strategy.
Our annual intake of Graduates and Interns create our bright future talent pipeline and go right to the heart of who we are as a business. We’ve recently been named as the Top Graduate employer in the R&D/Manufacturing space in New Zealand AGAIN which we are very proud of! As we launch our recruitment campaign for 2024/2025 we are in a great position to compete for the best talent and expect a high level of interest in these opportunities. We need you to help us!
What will you be doing?
To select and hire the best grads and interns in the NZ market, we need a calm, highly organised and friendly coordinator. You’ll be part of our specialist global Talent Acquisition team, and specifically support and work closely alongside our Talent Acquisition Business Partner based in Dunedin. Providing a slick, human-centred, and positive experience for all our student applicants along with outstanding value to our business and hiring leaders is the goal. It’s a busy but fun time!
This is a significant recruitment project with a comprehensive project plan, and templates and guides in place, so we are looking for someone who can quickly pick that up, supported by initial training and induction, and take off with it along with regular support and check ins with the TA Business Partner. You don’t need HR or Recruitment experience specifically, but you do need a curiosity and interest in engaging with students, along with a real results orientation.
Working collaboratively together as a small project team regular communication, feedback and updates will be important. We’ll need to keep on top of volumes at peak times, as well as identifying and managing potential risks in achieving our hiring goals. Key attributes include:
- learning quickly,
- excellent attention to detail and record keeping,
- ability to plan methodically and carefully using a centralised system, video interviews (and yes, some good old-fashioned spreadsheets!), and
- a sense of humour and high standards of customer service.
This is a fixed term position starting as soon as possible (in June) through until the end of September to cover this busy period. You can do the work from home or in the office or a hybrid mix, and there’s the possibility of less than fulltime for the right applicant. Some flexibility is required however as we need to contact students in the evening.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll get hands on experience working with a global brand and experienced talent acquisition partner, get to promote our opportunities and engage with smart enthusiastic students. Anyone with curiosity about recruitment or HR works will get some valuable, on the job learning that they can take forward to their next role. You never know, you may love us so much you find your next role with us!
Apply now with a cover letter setting out why you’d be a great addition to the team.
We can only accept applicants with the current right to work in New Zealand.
