What our Graduate Software Developer will do
The purpose of this role is to help develop systems to enhance planning activities in our Quality Lab. You will also develop skills in resolving technical problems as they arise and escalating them where appropriate.
Working as part of the wider Quality team, this will be your ‘home’ department. Over the initial 2 year period, you will also gain the opportunity to rotate and contribute into different areas of the business to gain a broader understanding of our products, processes and people.
We are looking for a Graduate Software Developer who has a strong work ethic while always remaining conscientious and maintaining a good attention to detail. You will be well supported as you take the initiative and make the most of the opportunity to grow and develop with us.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Collaborating closely with Quality Lab teams, associated stakeholders and local IT to identify pain points and help develop data solutions that address lab planning challenges effectively
  • Ensuring all new developments in the Quality Labs follow an agreed standard and are well documented
  • Supporting the maintenance of existing lab automation software and responding quickly to any malfunctions
  • Implementing new features to existing solutions based on stakeholder requirements
  • Conducting research, proposing and exchanging new ideas, and sharing best practice that would further improve the dataflow in the labs

What our Graduate Software Developer will need

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Maths or a related field
  • An understanding of the needs of system users and a problem-solving mindset
  • Demonstrable experience working with database software, e.g. SQL, and in a programming language, e.g. Python and GO
  • A proactive attitude, full of curiosity with good analytical and organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Beneficial:

  • A basic knowledge of semiconductors
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms e.g. Azure
